The research activities of our laboratory are at the interface of mechanics, material science, and scientific computing. Our current projects, which are in the broad field of Simulation-Based Engineering Science, include damage mechanisms in ductile and brittle materials, contact mechanics (tribology), and micro mechanics. To gain a fundamental understanding in each of these domains, we develop robust, efficient, open-source algorithms.
